WHAT WE HAVE TO DO AFTER CORONA?
Bill Gates’s visionary TED speech in April 2015 which gave crucial advice to us if we have a global pandemic, is totally awakening. So, the pandemic’s just knock the door. But the world didn’t take as much improvement as Corona(COVID-19) virus took. A global threat now on the road and is increasing the number of dead people and infectious ones. There will be destructive effects for all humanity. What the main things Bill emphasizing are the new form of the risk and requiring readiness for it.
In the early past, the world had “Ebola” viral cases mostly located in West Africa. Nearly 10,000 people dead but luckily didn’t spread much more urban areas. Yet it’s one of the worst crisis management sample for such issues. Epidemiologists and states didn’t take it serious consideration to prevent splaying. Also, there’s not enough surveillance&data collection action for reasoning it. The great effort of the heroic medial persons and the nature of the virus didn’t make it so terrible to pay the bill.
In 1918 Spanish Flu, over 30 million people dead but likewise Ebola, it wasn’t a progressive alert for us to understand the nature of pandemic. Therefore, historically we had a low opinion of what is the cost of such things. Exampling it with the food containing barrel of which Bill put their backyard if they had a nuclear attack, we didn’t get us prepared for a similar crisis and didn’t put back what we need. Either a virus that infected one stay asymptomatic or bioterrorism pull ugly face out, it’s somehow sounding like COVID-19. But we didn’t take action for that.
Advances in science and technology can ensure us to develop new measures for pandemics. We can build a response system with our advanced cellphones and satellites. New drugs and vaccines can be invented. Bill told us such means and methods in summary. Global preparedness is also a key factor if the virus doesn’t ask for an address. Nevertheless, people having a fast and lack of questioning life didn’t appeal what was told for them. We’ve just consumed resources without glimpsing an eye the proofs what nature told us by its language.

We totally can’t know what the world will be in the post-Corona term. Now, all people are talking “new normal”. Isolating us from others and leaving our routine life behind, we are waiting for something. States are rushing and trying to prevent the increase of virus cases. Sorry to say that the death toll will be tremendous. Therefore, destructive economic and sociological effects will be in progress for a long period. Hard lessons which we are taking somehow a reason for the shortage of a systematic plan against the environmental act.
Finally, cities are much like abandoned and our “charming” and fast life have had a pause. We are having everything “remote” and reshaping our daily routine. I wish, everyone thinks and understands a bit about cases we’ve faced.
